    Our Approach


    Raising Malawi manifests all projects taking into consideration the guidelines set forth by the National Plan of Action (a document co-created by the Malawian government and UNICEF); and encourages dialogue with the Malawian Government and Traditional Authority leaders to respect the Malawian culture and support their participation and vision for the future.

    Our range of initiatives can be defined within a Four-Point Approach aimed at stabilizing and revitalizing impoverished communities:


    • Provide

      Provide immediate direct physical assistance for orphans and vulnerable children through effective and efficient non-governmental, grass-roots organizations.

    • Support

      Support long-term methods for economic sustainability.

    • Create

      Create educational initiatives and psycho-social programs for children traumatized by HIV/AIDS, poverty, parental loss, malnourishment and disease.

    • Build

      Build global awareness for the plight of Malawi’s vulnerable children through multi-media and grassroots volunteer initiatives.
