In December, Grassroot Soccer (GRS) team visited Home of Hope to host a week-long Skillz camp – the third camp of 2015! The Skillz camp educates young people about HIV prevention through soccer. Fifty-nine kids attended the camp, which was taught by two master instructors from GRS with help from Home of Hope’s teachers. The camp included activities such as “Whose Got Skillz” , which provides praise for the students who speak up with valuable information learned earlier during the camp. The students also wrote and starred in their own dramas about everyday situations and how to make smart health decisions. At the end of the camp, one student thanked the GRS team for answering many reproductive health questions she had always had but was afraid to ask. The camp had an overall knowledge increase of 32% according to the pre and post tests delivered.
